Are u tired of expensive defenders like Ivanovic, Vidic or Vertonghen giving you 1 point? Are you bored of investing money in defense leaving your mid deteriorated? Are you buying cheap defenders without knowing if they will play or not?
Then this is what you need to
know about cheap defenders who score good points. Below is a list of nailed on defenders who you can use cheaply in your team:
- · Gabbidon, Moxey,Ward-all 4m
With Tony Pulis being named as Crystal palace manager last week it is tempting to have a look at their defenders since everyone knows of his tactics while he was coaching Stoke city.
He just uses one tactic packing the bus and scoring from set pieces. Just as a football fact Tony Pulis has never been relegated in 21 years as a football manager so that's so tasty in term of FPL. Thus, it is worth considering Palace defense during the busy Christmas period since that's the key to surviving EPL top flight.

Seriously who would have known Villa would keep clean sheets, maybe God or Chuck Norris, Villa have been known for their poor defensive record.
With 3 clean sheets in the last four games it's worth having a villa defender for once in this seasons Fpl. Vlaar is the most nailed on of those 3 since he can score and he is also a bonus point magnet.
But you should know that Clark and Vlaar have a 'good' history of scoring own goals.

- Figueroa 4.4 Davies 4.6
Hull city have just conceded 3 goals at home this season, even the mighty Suarez could not breach their back-line.
Davies and Figueroa are the only nailed on Hull defenders, Davies is my preferred choice because of his attacking exploits but now he is suspended till 9th December.

- Theophile-Catherine, Taylor Turner-all 4m
Cardiff might not have kept a clean sheet in the last two home games but we can't deny the fact that they were facing Man U and Arsenal and one away game at Aston Villa.
Prior to that, they had kept two consecutive clean sheets so its not a bad idea to use them as cheap rotational options during the busy festive season.
In terms of attacking threat, Caulker is the preferred choice but with a price of 5.0, he is too expensive so Theophile is my preferred choice since he offers good crosses down from the right.

- Flanagan 4.5
If you are looking for Liverpool defensive cover Flanagan is the most nailed on at the moment. With Enrique out till 2014 and Cissokho not showing any form, he will come good.
With Rodgers experimenting with 3-5-2 at times he might offer some attacking flair down the left.
Next 5 Fixtures:Norwich(H)West Ham(H)Tottenham(A)Cardiff(H)Man City(A)
- Olsson 4.2
I know this might be a bit controversial since some of you had a Norwich defender when they lost 7 nil to Man city so some of you might not read this.
But the reason I have chosen Olsson is only because he is sometimes deployed on the wing, so who does not like a defender who is a midfielder. It's worth having him in your team when they are playing teams from bottom half.
Next 5 Fixtures:Liverpoo(A)West brom(A)Swansea(H)Sunderland(A)Fulham(H)
- Bardsley 4.4 Brown 4.3
Yeah Sunderland have been so poor but since Gus Poyet was hired they have kept 2 clean sheets from three games.
Although Sunderland's player are being given red cards at their own free will, it is still worth giving them consideration as they have to fight for survival from their backline by not conceding goals.Bardsley is a good attacking threat but Brown is a bonus magnet.
Next 5 Fixtures:Chelsea(H)Tottenham(H)West ham (A)Norwich(H)Everton(A)
- Collins 4.3
With Reid out for an unknown date Collins is now the most nailed on West Ham defender , with Big Sam having a not so bad defensive record at home he is worth giving some consideration.
Collins is also good in the air so he might sneak in a few goals from set plays.
