Things you Need Know about GW14 Midweek games Part 1

14:53

Were you the only who did not captain Suarez in your mini-league? Did you get 100 points and you still remained in the same position in your league? worried about your rank after GW14 and still want to improve?

Below are the major points one should note about GW14:
  • Liverpool 5 Norwich 1 Assists Gerrard Coutinho Sterling Suarez Redmond Goals Suarez(4), Sterling, Johnson
>Suarez can't stop scoring hattricks against Norwich, everyone knows he was fantastic. With people shifting focus to only Suarezs goals, they should also focus on Sterling.

>Sterling scored an awesome 14 points, with Sturridge out for sometime he might be nailed on as a short term punt. Priced at only 4.9 you should put him in your watchlist.

>Its hard for Liverpool to keep clean sheets, Liverpool have only kept one clean sheet since GW3 so those managers with Mignolet should just stick with him for the weekend  against toothless West ham and ditch him after that for someone like Howard.

  • Southampton 2 Aston Villa 3 Assists Clyne Lambert Delph El Ahmadi Delph Goals Delph Kozak Rodriguez Osvaldo Agbonlahor
> Many scorers out there but only three major taking points:

         -  Benteke benched for the first time.He is really out form, having not scored for six games he is a real concern to fpl managers  who have him.

To make it worse Villa won without him so he might enjoy quite some time in the bench.

          - Jay Rodriguez form continues, the Southampton man has now notched 4 times in his last five games. For more info about Jay Rodriguez check my previous article.

           - Southampton woes continue, having started the season brightly with lots of clean sheets So'ton have now went five games without one.
With Boruc out for about 5 weeks managers should shy away from So'ton defenders

  • Stoke city 0 Cardiff City O
>Stoke were known for their defensive stability last season because of Tony Pulis, with introduction of Hughes managers have lost faith in Stoke city's defence.

>Due to this it is worth noting that stoke have kept 3 clean sheets in the last four home games against mid table opposition.
But with home games against Everton, Chelsea and Liverpool in the next four worth shying away for a while.

  • Sunderland 3 Chelsea 4 Assists Colback, Larsson,Ba,Hazard,Lampard, Torres Goals Altidore Bardsley O'shea Hazard(2) Lampard
>Lots of goals scored but only 5 major talking points:

         - Hazard is amazing against poor defense, Hazard punished poor Sunderland defence with his dribbles and scored two goals in the process , with an average of 10.5 points in the last 4 gameweeks he is really in great form. With Mourinho having total faith in him he is almost guaranteed to get game time in  packed Chelsea mid.

         - Lampard is rediscovering his scoring touch, Lampard is flying under the radar at the moment and with Mourinho affording him game time he might be a good option/differential to those who do not have Hazard/Oscar. He has now scored 3 goals in his last 2 away games.

         - Bardsley loves to score on both ends, he is in a really 'good' form. Bardsley has scored 4 goals in the last 7 games for Sunderland and for a defender that is a lot ha-ha! but don't be fooled two of them were own goals. So if you plan on getting him dig two graves.

         - Altidore has scored for the first time in the league, finally finding the back of the net after 11appearances for Sunderland without a goal. Worth putting him in your watchlist.

-Mourinho defensive frailties continue, Chelsea have now kept only 1 clean sheet in the last 9 games.

Fulham 1 Tottenham 2 Assists Berbatov Walker Goals Holtby Chiriches

> Walker on the assist charts again, having scored a goal against Man united and assisted 'twice', he is one worth having in your team and with their fixtures weakening ,he might come good.

> Holtby and  Chiriches score for the first time in EPL, both showed their shooting abilities and they are both  worth keeping in your watchlist.

>Priced at 5.1 Chiriches might also come good with clean sheets.

Conclusion

The gameweek showed the good and the evil of players like Bardsley. The decision to captain Suarez was a major factor in  GW13.

But with everyone one captaining him  the differentials came from the mid and defence. This shows that one should build up on performing differentials in order to improve his rank in the league.

That's it for now guyz feel free to share your experiences about fpl or follow me on twitter @Biifplblogger. The next article will be posted at around 16GMT tomorrow.
